The last day of Student Life
I ticked the box to answer the last MCQ. Perhaps answered the last question ever.
At 10:40, I realized, when I clicked on the Submit and Finish button, I submitted my entire Student Life. I did not just submit my paper, I also submitted all the memories and happiness that comes with being a student. I finished my identity as a student. From 10:41, I am everything but a student.
It was the last exam.
It was the last time I lived the campus life.
It was the last time I would have called my self a student.
Though some wise man said, You remain a student all your Life. I don’t agree. It sounds good, but a student with the College life is very different.
I have ceased to be a student now.
No more special treatment at Home.
No more bunking Lectures.
No more Exams.
No more Cheating.
Carrying cheats to college, sitting for hours in the Parking, college gossips, and whatnot.
The security of life in the Campus. The feeling of safety. The openness. The freedom of college life. The swag as a student. The hostel life. The friends. Everything will change now. Nothing will ever be the same again.
Suddenly I feel like a grown up. A man with responsibilities and duties. I feel I can't just lay down on my bed and use the phone for hours. I need to sit erect, work, earn, grow and excel.
I will do everything I can, work hard, but, will the journey be as fun as the Student Life. I don’t know. The transition seems so sudden. 10:40 to 10:41. Everything changed in a minute. I have lived 24 years as a student. At 10:41, I have a new role. A new identity. New Responsibilities. A little excited and little afraid. How will the life be on the other side. I remember what DJ said in Rang De Basanti.
